This class is the best way to gain hands on experience under expert guidance.

Although there is an abundance of information online, beginner courses are most reliable way to learn correct technique safely and will give you a strong foundation to start you on your blacksmith journey.

In this course you will learn essential skills needed for blacksmithing by forging a fire rake. We will cover:

• basic blacksmithing techniques

• correct hammer technique

• workshop safety

• how to operate a gas forge

• tools of the trade

Once the fire rake is completed, students will use their new skills to forge some essential tools of their choosing to reinforce what was learned such as chisels, dividers, punches etc.

With a maximum of three students per session, the students are given undivided attention and the opportunity to ask questions, and fully take in the experience.

The full-day course runs from 8am to 5pm (unless other arrangements are made). Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring a lunch and a water bottle.
