This unique course, tailored for a small class size, provides an in-depth exploration of basic forging techniques, workshop safety, and the crucial art of hardening and tempering. Throughout the day, each participant will have the opportunity to create their very own hammer – from raw materials to a finished, functional tool.

In this course you will learn essential skills needed to be successful in hammer forging. We will cover:

• basic/intermediate blacksmithing techniques

• how to strike

• workshop safety

• how to operate top tools and fly-press

• tools needed to forge hammers

This course offers a unique opportunity to experience the complete process of forging a hammer, from raw materials to a finished product, under the guidance of an experienced instructor.

The full-day course runs from 8am to 5pm (unless other arrangements are made). Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring a lunch and a water bottle.
